Hi, I’m James, the founder of MonarchXR. With over 12 years of experience in the video game industry, including my current work as a professional in the virtual reality space, I’ve seen the world of interactive entertainment from the inside. My goal is to use that deep experience to be your trusted guide. Whether you’re looking for in-depth reviews, expert analysis on the latest headlines, or the ultimate buyer’s guide, you’ll get an insider’s perspective here to help you navigate the world of VR and XR with confidence.
My Journey in the Industry
Gaming has always been my outlet. Like many of you, it was my safe place, my escape, and I quickly became obsessed with the art form. How artists, actors, and programmers could come together to create a truly interactive piece of art is incredible. That passion gripped me, pulled me into the industry, and never let go.
Professionally, I spent my last few years building programs for creators in gaming and tech. However, I realized I couldn’t truly drive impact without understanding their struggles, their wins, and their passion. That’s why I started MonarchXR: to connect with this community on a deeper level and to share my own journey through the exciting, ever-changing world of XR.
My focus then shifted from participating in communities to building programs for the creators within them. This led me to my role at Viral Nation, an agency at the forefront of influencer marketing. Through the agency, I was part of the team hired by Blizzard Entertainment to help bring the official Diablo Partner Program to life. Today, my journey continues at the forefront of the next computing platform, where I work with Meta to develop the affiliate programs for groundbreaking hardware like the Meta Quest and Ray-Ban Meta glasses.
