Globular Cluster F3 V3 Review: The Ultimate Quest 3 Facial Interface?

The Quest 3 is great, but the stock facial interface holds it back. With stiff and uncomfortable padding, a rough fabric that makes contact with your face, and a significant issue with light leakage, there is much to be desired. An aftermarket facial interface quickly becomes a needed upgrade. Enter the Globular Cluster F3 V3. It’s an upgrade to an already popular design that promises to solve all of these problems. In this review, I’ll break down whether it truly delivers

Installation & Fit

The padding options for the Globular Cluster F3 V3 facial interface.

When installing the facial interface, the bracket that snaps into the headset is tiny, creating a very sleek and low-profile addition to the headset that now allows you to swap between three interface options with different materials. The only issue with this is that because the bracket is so small, it can be a little finicky to get installed, but once the one-time installation is done, you never have to worry about it again.

Thanks to the highly customizable nature of this interface, the fit is perfect. With three material options (leather-like and two separate fabrics), and magnetic accessories like a nose piece and side panels, this thing should fit just about everyone. My favorite padding is the leather-like material; it seriously feels like memory foam on my face.

Performance & Comfort

Speaking of the memory foam feel, each of the three interfaces has this level of padding. They are all super comfortable and have their own time to shine. The leather-like material is easy to clean with a simple wipe and doesn’t hold in sweat. The grey fabric is a cooler, sweat-absorbing material perfect for workouts. Even the more “generic” style interface with a black fabric is super comfortable for longer play sessions while keeping sweat away from your face.

Not only is the padding customizable, but there are other magnetic accessories included. For people who prioritize immersion, the nose piece will keep light leakage nearly 100% contained. For those who like to have more visibility to the outside world, take off the nose piece and the side panels to make this an open interface perfect for productivity.

Pros & Cons

  • Exceptional comfort: Night and day difference over the stock interface.
  • Highly Customizable: Tailor the fit for gaming, MR, fitness, or productivity.
  • Total Immersion: Virtually eliminates all light leakage.
  • Magnets Can Shift: Can be knocked out of place when handling the headset (stable during use).
  • Many Parts to Track: Versatility comes with several small to medium-sized pieces to store.

The Verdict: Is the Globular Cluster F3 V3 Worth It?

Absolutely. This is the ultimate Meta Quest 3 facial interface, perfect for nearly every use case.

It’s a modular system that provides tailored solutions for the hardcore VR gamer (thanks to unmatched comfort and immersion), the fitness user (due to its easy clean-up and washable materials), and the productivity/MR user (with its unique open-sided option).
