AMVR LC6L Review: The Ultimate PCVR Cable?
PCVR is the ultimate way to experience VR. Wireless is the most sought-after option, but we all know how difficult it can be to get a decent wireless connection, which means most of us need to settle for a Meta Quest 3 link cable.
The default options on the market may offer lag-free PCVR, but the battery life on the Quest 3 leaves a lot to be desired. So when AMVR offered to send me their LC6L link cable, I had to do a review. This cable promises high-speed PCVR while simultaneously charging your headset, but is it actually the best PCVR cable for Quest 3? Let’s jump into my full AMVR LC6L Review:
Build Quality: 16 Feet of Braided Nylon
The AMVR LC6L is a braided link cable, and at 16ft, it will give you near-total freedom of movement. During my testing, I stepped on and accidentally yanked the cable a few times, and I’ve noticed no damage or other issues. I would give the AMVR LC6L durability rating an A+ so far based on two weeks of testing. I’ll be sure to update this review if anything changes here with prolonged use.
The PCVR Experience: 5Gbps Speeds & Zero Lag
When it comes to wired vs wireless PCVR, which wins? While a wireless connection is preferred thanks to the elimination of a cable, wireless connections can never match the quality output that comes with a 5Gbps data transfer from something like the AMVR LC6L. Quest 3 PCVR performance is unmatched, delivering the best graphical fidelity and steadiest connection in all of my testing.
Tested with my PC (i5-12400, RTX 5070, 16GB RAM) with games like Walkabout Mini Golf and Star Wars Squadrons, I can’t help but notice just how seamless the experience is. I only noticed one connection issue, which stemmed from a faulty USB connection due to dust (oops). After fixing that issue, I noticed no lag, graphical issues, or connection problems. Just pure, lag-free PCVR.
The L-Shaped Connector & Power Management
One of the most exciting additions for me may be one of the most boring for others. AMVR truly thought of everything here by providing both an L-shaped connector to plug into your Quest 3 to reduce strain on your USB port; they also included a USB-C to A adapter to allow you to plug into any PC, from laptops to desktops.
I’ve been searching for a Quest 3 charging link cable for a long time, but most options required two cables or other finicky connections. The AMVR LC6L solves all of my complaints and introduces one high-quality cable for all of your PCVR needs.
Pros and Cons
The Verdict: An Essential PCVR Upgrade?
Is the AMVR LC6L worth it? I think it is the ultimate PCVR cable for Meta Quest, and if you need a link cable, you should look no further. It is the ultimate Quest 3 PCVR accessory that belongs in every PCVR setup.
