Pancake lenses, wireless freedom, standalone and PCVR friendly.
Standalone visuals are a compromise. LCD screen leaves room for color improvement.

Quest 3 or Quest 3S: which should I buy?
It really depends on your goals. If this is your first headset, the Quest 3S is the best value, but the upgrade to Quest 3 is absolutely worth the money in my opinion.
Do I need a gaming PC for VR?
No, standalone VR is an absolutely viable option in 2026. If you want the best visuals on the market, PC is the better option however.
What’s the cheapest good VR headset?
The Quest 3S offers the same power and features of Quest 3 for only $349, it’s the best value in the XR industry.
The verdict
For most VR fans, the Meta Quest 3 is the obvious choice. Offering a complete all in one package with the option to connect to PCVR makes this a no-brainer. However, if you’re looking for a budget option, or the absolute best visuals on the market, you may want to look at Quest 3S and Pimax Crystal Super respectively.
